Ann Jacobus is a fan of the unexpected, respecter of the unexplainable, & an optimist.

A lover of stories in any form, Ann has contacts at the FBI, SAG, ASPCA, and NASA, and listens when dogs talk. As a kid, she studied dance and theater and tried in vain to sing. She scared her younger siblings with tales of the Bloody Hand and worse; forced them to act in her plays; was a tetherball, trampoline, monkey bar, and water-skiing whiz; and never met a vegetable she didn't like. She also never met a liver she could stomach.

Ann was born in Texas and grew up primarily in Arkansas. As an adult, she spent two decades overseas living in the Arabian Gulf (Bahrain), the Czech Republic, and France. A mental health advocate and former crisis-line counselor, she teaches novel plotting and presents to young adults on the subjects of writing and suicide prevention at the same time. She divides her time between San Francisco, CA, and Chappaquiddick, MA.

This is our friend, author Frances Lee Hall, who passed away suddenly in 2016. She was the co-founder of our writing group Beyond the Margins and the author of the middle grade novel Lily Lo and the Wonton Maker.
